Helping to control the cost of Care
In England, spending on adult social care has been increasing. In 2023/24, total expenditure on adult social care reached £32.0 billion, marking a 12.8% increase from the previous year. Gross current expenditure, which excludes NHS income, was £27.2 billion.
A significant portion of this funding goes towards staffing, as workforce costs are a major factor in social care budgets. However, the sector is facing challenges, including concerns over recruitment and pay levels.
CS Place and NHS Commercial Solutions are looking at how we can support local authorities with the cost effective, reliable staffing solutions that they need to provide the best care in their communities.
We want to make sure we get this right, and we’re working with our NHS, Housing and Local Authority stakeholders and partners to co-design effective solutions to deliver effective outcomes.
